Startled

a fragile soul

she is wary of anyone

coming too close

a broken spirit

she is reluctant to

believe in hope

a tired body

she prays quietly

for renewed strength

she was startled

with an embrace of

comfortable strength

a power so

sincere, enough to cause

irreparable damage

an impact so

great, capable of answering

a lifetime of prayers

don’t let her go
